Katana - Kanenobu - Shirasaya/Uchigatana Koshirae with Gunto Saya - Ubu Nakago - Koto Era
This sword was made by Kanenobu of Mino. The blade is in very sound condition but is slightly dull. There is a 6 cm forging flaw in the center of the blade. One side of theĀ bladeĀ is slightly cloudy from the tip to about 25 cm. TheĀ hamon patternĀ is a typical Mino style of choji midare, and theĀ grainĀ is itame. The fitting is of the Uchigatana style with a military (Gunto style) scabbard. A Shirasaya is also included for storage. The tsuba, fuchi/kashira, menuki, andĀ tsukamaki hilt are all original and in good condition. The scabbard was remade for use as a military swords during World War II.
